Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2 pounds beef sirloin or round steak, cut into 1-inch strips Can substitute with flank steak or beef chuck.
  • 1 cup bottled teriyaki sauce
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed

Instructions

Preparation

  • Slice the beef into 1-inch-wide strips, trimming away any excess fat.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the teriyaki sauce and brown sugar until the sugar is mostly dissolved.
  • Place the beef strips in the slow cooker and pour the teriyaki mixture over them, stirring gently to coat.

Cooking

  • Cover and cook on LOW for 6 to 8 hours or on HIGH for 3 to 4 hours until the beef is tender.
  • Stir the beef strips and adjust the sauce if needed.

Serving

  • Serve over rice, potatoes, or noodles, spooning extra sauce on top for added flavor.

Notes

For a spicy twist, mix sriracha or red pepper flakes into the teriyaki sauce. Add bell peppers, snap peas, or broccoli in the last hour of cooking for extra color and nutrition. You can also use chicken or tofu instead of beef.
