  • 1/4 teaspoon salt Reduce added salt if using salted butter.
  • Zest of 1 orange Fresh zest enhances flavor immensely.
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips Substitute with semi-sweet chocolate chips for a different flavor.

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and powdered sugar using an electric mixer or whisk until the mixture is light and fluffy.
  • Mix in the vanilla extract and orange zest until well combined.
  • Gradually incorporate the all-purpose flour and salt, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  • Gently fold in the white chocolate chips until evenly distributed in the dough.
  • Divide the cookie dough into two equal portions and shape each into a log. Wrap each log tightly in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until firm.
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Once the dough is chilled, slice each log into 1/4-inch (6 mm) thick rounds and arrange them on baking sheets lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  • Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
