Ingredients

Cookie Base

  • 1 cup unsalted butter (room temperature) Make sure it's at room temperature for best blending.
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 2 large eggs At room temperature
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Fillings and Toppings

  • 1 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade) For best results, fill indents when cookies cool slightly.
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk chocolate) Melted for drizzling.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the room-temperature butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring each is well mixed before adding the next.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.

Baking

  • Scoop dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between scoops. Use your thumb to create an indent in the center of each.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until golden around the edges but soft in the middle.
  • Allow cookies to cool slightly, then fill indents with caramel sauce.
  • Melt chocolate chips and drizzle over the cookies.
  • Let the cookies set before serving.

Notes

Store leftover cookies in an airtight container for up to a week. Can use homemade caramel for better flavor. For salted caramel version, add a pinch of sea salt to the caramel sauce.
