  • 1 package Oreos (about 15 cookies) Crushed Oreos for the base.
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened Make sure cream cheese is at room temperature for easier mixing.
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips Chocolate for coating the balls.
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon For flavoring and decoration.

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, combine the crushed Oreos and softened cream cheese. Mix until everything is well combined and forms a dough-like consistency.
  • With your hands, roll the mixture into small balls, about one inch in size. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or wax paper.
  • Put the baking sheet in the freezer for about 30 minutes to firm up the balls.
  • While the Oreo balls are chilling, melt the semisweet chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl and heat in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until completely smooth.
  • Once the balls are firm, dip each one into the melted chocolate, using a fork to help lift them out and allow any excess chocolate to drip back into the bowl.
  • Before the chocolate hardens, sprinkle a touch of cinnamon over each coated ball.
  • Return the chocolate-covered balls to the baking sheet and refrigerate until the chocolate has completely hardened, usually takes about 30 minutes.

Notes

These sweet treats pair wonderfully with cold milk or coffee. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week. For variation, try using different flavored cookies or colored candy melts for dipping.
