  • 2 Tbsp Butter or coconut oil Use refined coconut oil if dairy-free.
  • 2 large Eggs Room temperature eggs blend easier.
  • 1/4 cup Maple syrup or honey Adjust amount if honey is used due to stronger taste.
  • 2 Tbsp Unsweetened cocoa powder Boosts chocolate flavor and texture.
  • 1/2 tsp Vanilla extract Enhances flavor.
  • 1/4 tsp Salt Enhances chocolate flavor.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a small baking pan with parchment paper.
  • Melt the dark chocolate and butter or coconut oil together in a bowl over simmering water or in the microwave until smooth.
  • Allow the melted mixture to cool slightly before adding the eggs, maple syrup or honey, vanilla, and salt.
  • Stir in the cocoa powder until well combined.

Baking

  • Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes, or until the edges are set and the center still looks soft.

Cooling

  • Allow the cake to cool in the pan for at least 30 minutes before slicing.

Notes

This cake improves in flavor after a day. For best results, do not rush cooling, and enjoy in small slices!
