Ritz Cracker Party Sandwiches

These delicious mini sandwiches made with Ritz crackers, turkey or chicken, and Swiss cheese are perfect for any gathering, easy to make, and full of flavor.

Ingredients

For the Sandwiches

  • 48 crackers 48 Ritz crackers (about one and a half sleeves)
  • 8 slices 8 slices deli turkey or chicken Can substitute with other deli meats
  • 8 slices 8 slices Swiss cheese Other cheeses can be used as variations

For the Butter Sauce

  • 4 tablespoons 4 tablespoons butter, melted (½ stick)
  • 2 teaspoons 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard Can adjust based on taste preference
  • 1 teaspoon 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ teaspoon ½ teaspoon garlic powder Fresh garlic can be used for more flavor
  • 1 teaspoon 1 teaspoon poppy seeds Optional topping
  • ½ teaspoon ½ teaspoon dried minced onion Optional topping

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Place half of the Ritz crackers in a 9x13 inch baking dish, with the flat side facing down.
  • Tear the turkey or chicken slices into small strips, fold them, and place a piece on top of each cracker.
  • Cut the Swiss cheese into 1-inch pieces and place one on top of the turkey on each cracker.
  • Add another Ritz cracker on top of each mini sandwich to complete them.

Butter Sauce Mixture

  • In a small bowl, stir together the melted butter, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic powder.
  • Evenly pour this buttery mixture over the assembled cracker sandwiches.

Cooking

  • Finish by sprinkling poppy seeds and dried minced onion over the top of the sandwiches.
  • Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese has melted and the tops are golden brown.
  • Once done, remove from the oven, let them cool for a minute, and then serve warm.

Notes

You can prepare the sandwiches a few hours in advance. Feel free to experiment with different cheese options or add spices for an extra kick.
