Ingredients

Main ingredients

  • 500 g quark or curd cheese Can be swapped with ricotta or cottage cheese but may alter the texture slightly.
  • 3 large eggs
  • 60 g semolina Can be substituted with almond flour but might change overall texture.
  • 500 g fresh plums Any seasonal stone fruit can work well; try peaches or apricots for a different flavor.
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp honey Optional, can reduce for less sweetness.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  • In a mixing bowl, stir together the quark, eggs, semolina, vanilla, and optional honey until smooth and well combined.
  • Wash the plums, halve them, and remove the pits.
  • Grease your baking dish and pour the quark mixture evenly into it.
  • Arrange the plum halves on top of the quark mixture, cut side up.
  • Sprinkle the cinnamon over the plums.
  • Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 35–40 minutes until set and golden brown.
  • Allow to cool slightly before serving; it can be enjoyed warm or cold.

Notes

Pro Tips: Ensure the quark is at room temperature for easier mixing. Don't overbake; the casserole should be firm but slightly wobbly in the center. Experiment with spices like nutmeg or ginger for different flavors. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
