Ingredients

Main ingredients

  • 300 g unsweetened applesauce Essential for controlling sugar levels.
  • 50 g rolled oats Adds texture and fiber; quick oats can be used for a smoother consistency.
  • 250 ml milk or oat milk Oat milk provides a dairy-free option, perfect for lactose intolerance.
  • to taste ground cinnamon Optional for added flavor.

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a medium pot, combine the applesauce, rolled oats, and milk or oat milk.
  • Place the pot over medium heat and stir gently to mix the ingredients thoroughly.
  • As the mixture heats, continue stirring until it begins to simmer.
  • Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer for about 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens and becomes creamy.
  • If desired, stir in a sprinkle of cinnamon for added flavor.
  • Remove from heat and let sit for a minute or two. Then, spoon the pudding into bowls or jars.
  • Enjoy warm or refrigerate to enjoy chilled later.

Notes

For a sweeter pudding, consider adding a touch of honey or maple syrup. Stir frequently while simmering to prevent sticking and achieve a smooth texture. Letting the pudding sit for a few minutes helps it thicken even further. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently in the microwave or on the stove with a splash of milk to restore the creamy texture.
