Ingredients

Pastry Ingredients

  • 1 package frozen puff pastry thawed
  • 1 cup butter softened
  • 3-4 cups powdered sugar for filling and dusting
  • 2-3 tbsp milk or cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Take the thawed puff pastry and cut it into squares or rectangles, aiming for about 3 inches in size for each piece.
  • Place the cut pastry pieces onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 10–12 minutes, or until they turn a beautiful golden brown.
  • Once baked, allow the pastries to cool completely on a wire rack.

Filling

  • Carefully slice each pastry in half to create a top and bottom layer.
  • In a mixing bowl, beat the softened butter with 3 cups of powdered sugar.
  • Add milk and vanilla, mixing until smooth. If the filling is too thick, add an extra tablespoon of milk or cream until you reach your desired consistency.
  • Use a piping bag to fill each pastry half with the buttery filling.
  • Once filled, dust the tops with powdered sugar for a touch of sweetness.

Notes

These pastries are best served fresh. They can be enjoyed alone, paired with coffee or tea, or dressed up for special occasions with fresh berries or chocolate sauce. Keep the filled pastries in an airtight container; they are best enjoyed within a couple of days.
