Ingredients

For the salmon

  • 1 lb Salmon fillet, cut into strips Fresh salmon preferred
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For the rice bowls

  • 2 cups Cooked rice (white or brown) Use whichever rice you prefer
  • 1 cup Steamed broccoli florets
  • 1 cup Sliced bell peppers (any color) For color variation
  • 1 each Avocado, sliced
  • 1/4 cup Chopped green onions

For the honey garlic drizzle

  • 1/4 cup Honey
  • 2 tablespoons Soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon Apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon Crushed red pepper flakes (optional) Adjust for spice preference

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir well to create a marinade.
  • Add the salmon strips into the bowl and toss them until they're well-coated with the marinade. Allow the salmon to sit for about 15 minutes.

Making the honey garlic drizzle

  • In a small saucepan over medium heat, mix together the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, apple cider vinegar, and crushed red pepper flakes (if using). Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook while stirring occasionally for about 3-4 minutes, or until it thickens slightly. Remove from heat and set aside.

Cooking the salmon

  • Preheat your grill or grill pan to medium-high heat. Place the marinated salmon strips on the grill.
  • Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they are cooked through and have nice grill marks.

Assembling the bowls

  • To assemble your bowls, start by placing a scoop of cooked rice as the base in each serving bowl.
  • Top the rice with the grilled salmon strips, steamed broccoli, sliced bell peppers, and avocado.
  • Drizzle the honey garlic sauce generously over the top, and garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

Enjoy warm straight from the grill. Use colorful bowls to highlight the fresh colors of the veggies and salmon. Consider adding a slice of lemon on the side for a zesty kick.
