  • 1 medium Onion Chopped.
  • 1 lb Ground Beef Can substitute with ground turkey or chicken.
  • 1 tablespoon Oil (olive or vegetable) For cooking.

  • 1 leaf Bay Leaf
  • 2 medium Carrots Grated.

  • In a large skillet, warm 1 to 2 tablespoons of oil over medium heat until it shimmers.
  • Add the chopped onion and cook until it turns translucent, about 4 to 5 minutes.
  • Stir in the ground beef and break it apart with a spatula. Cook until the beef is browned, about 5 to 7 minutes. Drain excess fat if needed.
  • Mix in the grated carrots and shredded cabbage, ensuring everything is well combined.
  • Sprinkle with salt and pepper, then toss in the bay leaf. Give everything a good stir.
  • Cover the skillet and let it cook for about 10 to 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is tender.
  • Before serving, taste the mixture and adjust the seasonings as needed.

Notes

Stores well in the fridge for up to 3 days. You can add spices like paprika or cumin for a flavor twist, or serve with crusty bread or salad. Perfect for meal prep.
