Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 250 g frozen strawberries, thawed and chopped
  • 250 g frozen raspberries, thawed
  • 250 g granulated sugar
  • 1 medium lemon, juiced
  • 125 ml water
  • 2 tsp pectin (or jam setting agent)

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a large saucepan, combine the thawed strawberries and raspberries.
  • Add the granulated sugar and lemon juice to the fruits. Stir well to ensure everything is mixed.
  • Let the fruit and sugar mixture sit for about 10 minutes, allowing the sugars to start dissolving.
  • After the 10 minutes, add the water and mix in the pectin thoroughly.

Cooking

  • Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a gentle boil, stirring regularly.
  • Once it reaches a boil, continue boiling for 10 minutes, or until the jam thickens slightly.
  • Test the jam by placing a small spoonful on a cold plate. If it holds its shape after cooling, it's ready!

Storage

  • Remove from heat and allow it to cool slightly before transferring it into sterilized jars.
  • Make sure to leave a little space at the top of the jar. Seal the jars and let them cool completely at room temperature before storing them in the fridge.

Notes

For longer shelf life, store the jam in sterilized jars in the fridge. It should last for up to three weeks.
