Ingredients

Base Ingredients

  • 1 cup Medjool dates, pitted (about 200 grams)
  • 1 cup mixed nuts (such as almonds and walnuts) (about 150 grams)
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder (about 50 grams)

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a food processor, combine the Medjool dates and mixed nuts. Blend until the mixture becomes sticky and well combined.
  • Sprinkle in the cocoa powder and continue to blend until everything is thoroughly mixed. The mixture should be pliable and dough-like.
  • Line a baking dish with parchment paper to make it easy to remove the bars later.
  • Transfer the chocolate date nut mix into the dish and press it down evenly to create a compact layer.
  • Place the dish in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, allowing the bars to firm up.
  • Once chilled, remove the mixture from the dish using the parchment paper. Cut into bars and enjoy your delicious snack!

Notes

These bars can be enjoyed on their own, with yogurt or melted dark chocolate, paired with tea or coffee, or packed in lunch boxes. Experiment with different nuts or add extras like dried fruits for variety.
