Ingredients

Main ingredients

  • 12 oz uncooked pasta (penne, rotini, or ziti)
  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded or cubed You can use rotisserie chicken for convenience.
  • 2 cups Alfredo sauce Store-bought or homemade
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt to taste Salt
  • Cooking spray or butter, for greasing the dish

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9x13-inch (23x33 cm) baking dish with cooking spray or butter.
  • Cook the pasta in a large pot of salted boiling water according to package directions, reducing the cooking time by 1 to 2 minutes so the pasta is al dente. Drain well.
  • In a large bowl, combine the cooked pasta, cooked chicken, Alfredo sauce, 1 cup of shredded mozzarella, and grated Parmesan. Stir until everything is mixed well.
  • Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.
  • Sprinkle the remaining 1 cup of shredded mozzarella evenly over the top of the casserole.

Baking

  • Cover the dish loosely with foil and bake for 15 minutes. Then remove the foil and bake for another 10 to 15 minutes, until bubbly and the cheese is melted and lightly golden.
  • Let the casserole rest for 5 to 10 minutes before serving. Serve warm.

Notes

To elevate your presentation, serve each warm portion on a plate, topped with fresh parsley. Pair with a simple green salad and garlic bread for a complete meal. You can also add cooked broccoli or spinach for added nutrition.
