Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 3 cups Fresh Berries of your choice (strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, or a mix)
  • 1/4 cup Filtered Water
  • 1 tbsp Maple Syrup (optional, adjust to taste) Adjust sweetness as per preference.
  • 2-3 tbsp Chia Seeds Add more for a thicker jam.
  • 1/2 Juice of 1 Lemon Juice of 1/2 Lemon

Instructions

Cooking

  • In a nonstick saucepan, combine the berries, filtered water, and maple syrup.
  • Heat the mixture over medium heat until it begins to boil, then reduce the heat to medium-low.
  • Let it simmer for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally. Mash some of the berries with the back of your spoon to help release their juices.
  • Once the mixture has thickened, remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the chia seeds. Mix well to ensure they’re evenly distributed.
  • Allow the mixture to sit for 5-10 minutes as it thickens further.
  • Squeeze in the juice of half a lemon and give it a good stir.
  • Transfer the jam to a glass jar and let it cool completely before sealing.
  • Store it in the refrigerator for 7-14 days.

Notes

For a smoother consistency, blend the mixture before adding chia seeds. You can use honey or agave syrup as alternative sweeteners, and adjust chia seeds for thickness.
