Cheese Sauce

  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, diced

Topping

  • 1 cup breadcrumbs Panko breadcrumbs are recommended for extra crunch.
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or butter Use olive oil for a healthier option.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  • In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the broccoli and cauliflower for about 3-4 minutes until slightly tender. Drain and set aside.
  • In a saucepan, heat olive oil or butter over medium heat. Add the diced onion and minced garlic, cooking until softened.
  • Stir in the cream cheese until melted, then gradually add the milk, mixing until smooth.
  • Add the shredded cheddar cheese, stirring until fully melted. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Assembly and Baking

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked broccoli and cauliflower with the cheesy sauce, mixing well.
  • Transfer the mixture to a greased casserole dish.
  • Top with breadcrumbs to create a delicious crust.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until the top is golden and bubbly.

Notes
