Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 500 g all-purpose wheat flour You can experiment with whole wheat for a denser texture.
  • 1.5 tsp instant dry yeast Make sure it's fresh for optimal rising.
  • 1.5 tsp salt Be mindful of the salt content if watching sodium intake.
  • 380 ml warm water Ensure the water is warm but not hot.
  • 30 g melted butter Using unsalted butter can help reduce sodium.

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, combine the flour, instant dry yeast, and salt.
  • Pour the warm water and melted butter into the dry ingredients.
  • Mix everything with your hands until well combined, ensuring no dry flour remains; there’s no need for kneading.
  • Cover the bowl with a clean kitchen towel and let the dough rest at room temperature for 45 minutes.
  • With damp hands, gently fold the dough towards the center to help it rise.
  • Cover the dough again and let it rest for another 45 minutes.
  • Once rested, divide the dough on the counter into 8 equal portions and shape them into rolls.
  • Dust the rolls lightly with flour and let them rest for 10 minutes.
  • Place the rolls on a baking sheet, cover, and allow them to rise for an additional 30 minutes.
  • Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F) with convection settings.
  • Bake the rolls for about 25 minutes or until they turn golden brown.
  • Enjoy your freshly baked butter rolls warm!

Notes

Ensure to monitor the rolls closely towards the end of baking to avoid over-browning. Store rolls in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.
