Main Ingredients

  • 2 pieces very ripe bananas The riper the bananas, the sweeter the cookies.
  • 1 cup tender oats Tender oats work best, but rolled oats can be used.

Optional Add-ins

  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon Enhances flavor, optional.
  • 1 tablespoon chopped nuts Optional for added texture.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, mash the bananas very finely with a fork until smooth.
  • Stir in the oats until a moldable mixture forms. If using, add in cinnamon or nuts at this stage.

Baking

  • Use a spoon to drop small heaps of the mixture onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, pressing them lightly flat.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 15–18 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the cookies are set.
  • Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Ensure bananas are well mashed for the best texture. Don’t skip cooling time as they firm up as they cool. Keep an eye on them while baking to avoid overbaking.
