Ingredients

For the Brie

  • 1 round 8-ounce cold brie cheese Make sure the brie is cold before baking.
  • 1/3 cup whole berry cranberry sauce
  • 2 tablespoons packed light or dark brown sugar Can use either light or dark brown sugar.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon finely grated orange zest
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons coarsely chopped nuts Pistachios, almonds, walnuts, or pecans work well.
  • 2 sprigs fresh rosemary Optional for garnish.

For Serving

  • assorted pieces store-bought or homemade crackers or crostini For serving with the baked brie.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a small bowl, mix together the cranberry sauce, brown sugar, vanilla extract, orange zest, and nutmeg until well combined.
  • Place the brie cheese in a baking dish and spoon the cranberry mixture generously over the top of the cheese.

Baking

  • Sprinkle the chopped nuts on top for added crunch and flavor.
  • Bake in the heated oven for 8 to 15 minutes, or until the brie is soft and gooey. Keep an eye on it to prevent overbaking.

Serving

  • Serve immediately with an assortment of crackers or crostini, and if you used rosemary, feel free to discard it or replace it with fresh sprigs for garnish.

Notes

Consider adding a splash of balsamic vinegar or a drizzle of honey for added flavor. You can also try different fruit sauces like raspberry or fig for variations.
