Ingredients

For the dessert layers

  • 300 g unsweetened apple sauce Adds natural sweetness without extra sugar.
  • 250 g topfen or quark Gives a creamy texture. Cream cheese can be a suitable alternative.
  • 150 g yogurt Can substitute with lower-fat Greek yogurt for a creamier option.
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon Adjust according to your taste preference.
  • 6-8 pieces low-sugar oat cookies or ladyfingers Use cookies that you enjoy for flavor and structure.

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, stir the topfen (or quark) and yogurt together until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
  • In another bowl, combine the apple sauce and cinnamon, mixing well to fully incorporate the spices.
  • Crumble the cookies into coarse pieces for texture.
  • Begin layering the dessert: start with cookie crumbs at the bottom of the glasses, followed by a layer of the cream mixture, and then a layer of the cinnamon apple sauce. Repeat the layers until the glasses are full, finishing with a layer of cream.
  • Refrigerate the assembled desserts for at least 1 hour to allow the flavors to meld and the layers to soften a bit.
  • Serve chilled, sprinkled lightly with extra cinnamon on top.

Notes

Let the dessert sit longer in the fridge if you prefer softer cookie layers. Use a taller glass for visual appeal. Taste as you go, and adjust cinnamon to personal preference.
