Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 325°F (160°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 5 to 7 minutes.
  • Gradually mix in the all-purpose flour until the dough becomes crumbly.
  • Press the crumbly dough together until it holds its shape when pressed.
  • Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and flatten them slightly to form disks.
  • Place the formed cookies on greased or parchment-lined baking sheets, leaving about 2 inches between each cookie.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 12 to 14 minutes or until lightly browned.
  • Let the cookies sit on the pans for about 5 minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
